The microscope itself has a metal body and it comes with a rugid carrying case. -- The Konus Youth Microscope Set features zoom magnifications of 100X-200X, 300X-600X, 600X-1200X. It includes 81 accessories including a microtome and directions to make slides for your own experiments. It can be illuminated with a mirror or with light. The main microscope head swivels 360 degrees for viewing from any angle, and the head itself sits at a comfortable 45 degree incline. The eyepieces sit in a gemel type assembly, allowing for maximum flexibility in adjusting the interpupillary distance. There is diopter focusing adjustments, and molded rubber eyecups are provided for your comfort. The focusing knob is on both the right and left side of the scope allowing for easy adjustment with either the right or left hand, and features a tension control mechanism allowing for adjustment of the focuser's sensitivity. Unlike many cheaper stereo microscopes, this model mounts on a height adjustable base, allowing the entire scope head to be adjusted higher or lower to accommodate very large specimens. This model has dual built-in infinitely variable halogen lighting. Spare halogen bulbs are included with your microscope.
