This is a brand new, factory sealed, Variscope Series 8621 microscope. The Variscope microscope family of optical instruments is made by one of the largest "private label" optical component fabricators in the world. Included with the quadruple nosepiece are four achromatic multi-coated objective lenses that display a true-color image. You get 4x, 10x, spring loaded 40x, and spring loaded oil immersion 100x objectives included with this microscope. For viewing, we provide two sets of eyepieces: a pair of premium grade wide-field 10x (18mm) eyepieces and a second set of 20x eyepieces. This allows for magnification ranges of 40x, 80x, 100x, 200x, 400x, 800x, 1000x, and 2000x. Ergonomic features include an advanced Seidentopf-type microscope head to provide maximum comfort in adjusting interpuplillary distance. The microscope head swivels 360 degrees and sits at a 30 degree incline. The eyepieces have diopter focusing adjustments.

This microscope is designed for professional grade viewing of a wide range of specimens. The microscope head has a threaded trinocular imaging port that enables you to attach a CCD camera or a photo-tube eyepiece (available separately). This microscope is manufactured with a rotating 1x - 3x objective lens made from premium ground optical glass. Used in conjunction with the 10x (20mm) stereo eyepieces, you can achieve magnifications of 10x to 30x right out of the box. We offer a range of optional eyepieces and objectives as well. With our optional wide field 15x eyepieces, you can extend the viewing magnifications to 15x to 45x, and with our optional 20x eyepieces, you can increase magnifications to 20x to 60x. Threaded auxiliary objective lenses are also available in .5x, 1.5x and 2x powers. This is a professional grade boom stand that is designed to be completely stable even when extended to its outer range. The 9x9 inch base piece alone weighs over 21 pounds and is stable as a rock. The main microscope head swivels 360 degrees for viewing from any angle, and the head itself sits at a comfortable 45 degree incline.
